Flood and Fire

Director: Jack Allen Keech

When his car breaks down, a failed law student carrying a family shattering lie must seek out help and redemption from an already hurting family, and decide whether to tell the truth and free himself from this burden, or attempt living with this secret to protect himself and his already damaged ego.

Working on Flood and Fire was an eye opening experience having to create atmospheric sounds that would interlace with the melodies present, the film feels isolating and has a constant mood of sadness to it throughout. Being set in rural Australia I combined sounds of locusts, grass swaying in the wind and chimes to give that feeling of vastness and space. Melodically I enjoyed tackling somber themes that were subtle and aided in accentuating the actors performances and dialogue.
